ESSAY COMPETITION

The Australian Flora Foundation is holding an essay competition in order to increase awareness of the work of the Foundation. Information about the Foundation can be found on the website http://www.aff.org.au. The competition is open to undergraduate or postgraduate university students of plant sciences in Australia. A prize of $1,000 will be awarded for the best two thousand word essay on one of the following topics
                           Priorities for the Conservation of the Australian Flora
                                                                        or
                          Priorities for the Cultivation of the Australian Flora
Critically examine the current priorities for conservation/cultivation of the Australian Flora, and discuss whether they are adequate or not, or whether better alternatives can be proposed

We are looking for a well thought out, well argued essay. The winning entry may be published on the Foundation’s website, and the winner awarded one year’s free membership of the Foundation.

Only one entry per student. Send:
1. Post a hard copy with filled in cover sheet providing a signed statement of authorship and originality, and the name of an academic staff member who can verify your student status to Australian Flora Foundation Inc., Box 41 Holme Building, University of Sydney, NSW 2006.
2. Email a copy of the essay in Microsoft Word format, plus a scan of the filled in cover sheet and a photo of yourself suitable for the AFF website, to pbgoodwin@iinet.net.au. Include ‘AFF essay competition’ in the subject line.
